We are excited that you have decided to join our dynamic community! Here, you will have the opportunity to build lasting friendships with fellow students. To ensure that your housing application process goes smoothly, listed below are the steps to apply for housing:
How to Apply for Housing:
1. Prep Work
- Accept admission to Shepherd by submitting your enrollment deposit.
- Activate your MyShepherd account, retrieve your username, and create a password, set up Multi-Factor Authentication.
- This info is sent to the personal email address you used on your Admissions Application.

2. Know your Stuff
- Know the University’s residency requirement. (For most students, that means living on campus unless you are living in the primary home of a parent or guardian within an approved commuting range. It does NOT mean living anywhere else for most residents under 21 years of age.)
- View the housing styles to identify a few preferences. All first year students with less than 30 credit hours will have the gold All Access Meal plan.
- Preview the Resident Agreement to understand the terms and expectations.

3. Sign Up for a room on the Good Living Portal
- Log into the Good Living Portal
- Select Student Login and enter your username/password
- Select Housing Application – Fall 26 & Spring 27
- Complete all the pages on the forms to identify your preferences, emergency contacts, and more.

4. Pay the Housing Deposit
- Submit the one-time $100 Housing Deposit at the Shepherd University Business Office in Ikenberry Hall, Suite 214 or call 304-876-5284.
- Watch the Good Living Portal for your placement and roommate information.
