Welcome to your exploratory RAMily! Here at Shepherd University, we believe importance lies in supporting our exploratory student population. If you’re not sure where to go, we can point you to the appropriate resources to lead you toward success!
Who is my advisor?
Log in to your RAIL account, then click on the “Students” tab. After that, click “Student Records” and “View Student Information”. Select the current term in the drop box and submit. Your advisor will be listed by “Primary Advisor”.
Where are the exploratory advisors located and how can I contact them?
They can be found at the Advising Assistance Center and Academic Support Center on the bottom floor of Scarborough Library. Click on the exploratory Staff link to the left side of this page for advisor contact information.
When do I need to declare a major?
You will need to declare when 30 credits are earned, which is typically met at the end of the first year. Your advisors and others in the Advising Assistance Center can help you complete the appropriate paperwork.
I have no idea what to major in! What should I do?
Take the Major Exploration FYEX course! There are 3 sections taught by full-time advisors who can provide resources to help you make this decision! In addition, the Advising Assistance Center and Career Services are available by appointment or walk-in, Monday – Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM. A list of all the majors and minors offered at Shepherd can be found here.
