IMPORTANT COVID-19 MESSAGE from SGA:
March 25, 2020
It has been a very unexpected and challenging spring break. None of us expected that our semester would be impacted by COVID-19 the way that it has. However, we are incredibly inspired and encouraged by the response of Shepherd’s students, staff, and faculty who have pulled together and demonstrated flexibility, commitment, compassion, and and outstanding collaboration in their efforts to hold true to Shepherd’s core values. Shepherd has prioritized the health and safety of our students and of our greater community without wavering from our goal to help students continue to learn and be successful without losing all the effort you have put into this semester.
The Student Government Association will be holding remote, web-based chapter meetings through zoom starting on Tuesday, March 31 at 5:00 pm. An announcement with the invitation will be posted on the SGA Sakai page and emailed out to all senators and reps. We have business to conduct and important campus updates will be shared.
Take a few moments to learn how to navigate zoom here and plan to attend. If for any reason a group’s Senator is not able to attend, please make sure you share the link and ask someone else to attend in your place.
SGA Elections for President and Vice President will be held on RamPulse from Tuesday, March 31 at 8:00 a.m. through Tuesday, April 7 at midnight. The ballot will appear on the main page feature box on RamPulse.
We understand that the move to online education is unexpected and the uncertainty that the future holds is unsettling. However, continuing to move forward with student club and organization business, holding online events, participating in Shepherd’s online Relay for Life efforts, and celebrating the accomplishments of your seniors and members are critical to the sustainability and well-being of your groups. More importantly, it is essential to your members who need each other’s friendship, encouragement, and support more than ever. To help you as you make the transition to online meetings and events, take a look the tips we have assembled to help you keep your members engaged here.
Please know that Shepherd is committed to the success and safety of our students and keeping you informed as things develop. Please check this site for the most recent updates and information.
Thank you for your leadership, creativity, and patience. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact us.
