November Break Closing Info

All Shepherd University Residence Halls, except for Dunlop and Printz Apartments, will close on Saturday, November 21, at 10am. Residents who leave after 10am will be charged a $25 improper checkout fee. Residence Life Staff will conduct room inspections of all residence halls starting at 10am.

The Residence Halls will reopen on Sunday, November 29, at noon.

How to get your room ready:

Cleaning

Throw away trash & food that can spoil.
Take all trash to the dumpster outside.
Vacuum or sweep floors & wipe surfaces.
Clean bathroom, sink & flush toilet.

Close up

Unplug everything from outlets except fridges & fish tanks.
Lower window blinds with slats open.
Set thermostat to heat & and room temp to 68 degrees.
Empty dehumidifier. Staff will check dehumidifiers periodically during the break.

Pack Smart

Pack EVERYTHING you need for a week-long break.
Remember medications, textbooks, wallet, passport, charger, etc.
You may not return to your room after the halls close on Saturday, November 21 at 10am.

Need to stay later?

If you need to stay past November 21 at 10am, log onto the Good Living Portal and submit the November Break – Extended Stay Request Form. If approved to stay for reasons not related to designated University academic or athletic commitments, you will be charged a $25 per day housing fee. Extended Stay Applications are due Wednesday, November 18. Dunlop & Printz Apartments remain open during November Break and residents do not need to complete the Extended Stay Request Form.
