Living on Campus

Located right on the Potomac River, Shepherd University is a picturesque, historic town that will quickly feel like home! You can choose from three styles of housing in our residence halls and four unique dining options. The downtown shops are an easy walk from campus or you can take advantage of an efficient campus bus-system (EPTA).

Commuting to Campus

We provide numerous services to guarantee comfort, success, and support for our commuter population! With specialized meal plans, access to our campus-bus system (EPTA), and parking lots on East and West campus, Shepherd will become your second home!

Student Activities

Want to become involved on campus and make new friends? With clubs, Greek Life, arts organizations, leadership opportunities, and social events, Shepherd is bound to have an organization for you! We offer easy access to our many campus organizations through RamPulse, a database that displays all of Shepherd’s organizations, programs, and upcoming events.   

Support Services

The Shepherd University community – a.k.a. your Ram Fam – will welcome and support you from the day you step on campus until the day you graduate! With access to our Scarborough Library, tools to develop your career goals, and a suite of support services, you will have the assistance you need to succeed.   

Wellness

Numerous services on campus will nurture your mental, physical, and emotional health. Students have free access to the Shipley Wellness Center, which offers a swimming pool, an indoor track, cardio and weight equipment, exercise classes, and more. The Health Center and Counseling Services stand ready to assist you and keep you healthy.  

First-Year Experience

The beginning of your college experience can be overwhelming, but we are here to help! Shepherd offers an innovative First-Year Experience (FYEX) program for first-year students to make sure your time here is one of success, growth, and excitement. This program offers courses that will guide you in finding creative ways to secure academic success and smoothly acclimate to the Shepherd community.
