Community Connections

Tabler Student Farm operates a 1.5 acre mixed fruit and vegetable demonstration site, as well as Aquaponics Laboratory. Over the years, the farm has established several community connections and outlets for the distribution of the produce grown on the farm. Learn more about our various produce outlets below. All proceeds go directly back into the Tabler Student Farm operations and programming.
Organizations
Since 2021, Tabler Farm has supplied the Shepherdstown Shares food pantry with farm fresh produce year-round and educational opportunities to their pantry clients. Since 2023, Tabler Farm has been one of several farms in the Eastern Panhandle growing produce for the newly established WVU Medicine Farm to You program. Proceeds from the partnership are used to fund growing operations.
Shepherd University Ram Pantry
Since 2022, Tabler Farm regularly supplies produce to its own university community through the campus food pantry. The food pantry provides Tabler with an annual donation which helps to support growing operations.
Tabler Farm partners with Jefferson Growers Artisans and Producers (G.A.P.) regularly on a variety of projects. Jefferson G.A.P. is a local non-profit organization that shares a similar mission to Tabler of creating a vibrant, local food economy.
