Faculty Excellence Fund
- Provides supplemental funding to support conference attendance, training opportunities, and applied research endeavors.
- Ensures that departmental faculty have access to resources to help them remain current in the field, advance research endeavors, and promote the university within academic circles.
Shepherd Students Succeed (Career Exploration and Innovative Workshops)
Through career exploration and innovative workshops, students gain important knowledge to be successful beyond graduation. Donations will:
- Provide a series of bus and site tours to encourage knowledge and active learning in the field;
- Allow for on-site career activities to explore potential employment opportunities (e.g. the Capitol Police, Europol, law enforcement agencies); and
- Bring in professionals in the field to demonstrate techniques, on-the-job skills, and duties, with topics ranging from law enforcement procedures and cybersecurity workshops to forensics practices and advocacy projects.
Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Social Research Conference (MAUSRC)
- Showcases and celebrates the depth and breadth of research being conducted by undergraduate students in all social science disciplines.
- Highlights scientific inquiry and knowledge of psychology; sociology; interventions on behalf of clients; and national and international government, politics, and policy.
- Provides opportunities for participants to get advice from fellow students and professionals about research and practice.
- Shepherd students can present research during poster or paper presentation sessions.
Naming Opportunity: Criminal Justice Lecture Series
- Series consists of four speakers each semester who motivate students to become pioneers in their chosen occupations.
