Join us for an enriching opportunity at Shepherd University’s NeuroData PBI Summer Camp!
West Virginia high school teachers are invited to participate in afree Project-Based Instruction (PBI) training fromJune 15–19, 2026, followed by a one-dayteaching at the student summer camp on Tuesday, June 23, using a PBI-integrated module. The 5-day training should help teachers get prepared for the one-day teaching.
This program is designed for4 high school teachers (2 in biology and 2 in math or data/computer science) and will cover the fundamentals ofproject-based instruction, neuroscience, and data science, along with hands-on applications.
Supported by theNSF RII grant (WV-NFNT, Award No. 2242771), participants will receive a$1,000 stipend upon completion of all five days of training and the one-day PBI teaching component.Lunch will be provided daily.

For Students: Join the 2026 NeuroData Summer Camp (Grades 8–12, West Virginia)
Welcome to the 2026 NeuroData Summer Camp at Shepherd University! This exciting day camp will take place June 22–26, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day.
The camp is designed for rising 8th–12th grade students (Fall 2026) enrolled in West Virginia schools. Enrollment is limited to 12 students, and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants will explore the fundamentals of neuroscience and data science while engaging in hands-on, real-world applications. Lunch will be provided daily.
Parents/guardians are required to drop off students at 9:00 AM and sign them in upon arrival, and to pick them up and sign them out at 4:00 PM. All drop-off and pick-up will take place in Room 227, Snyder Hall, Shepherd University.
This camp is generously funded by the NSF RII grant (WV-NFNT, Award No. 2242771) and offers a unique and enriching learning experience.
To secure your child’s spot, please complete registration by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, April 29.
Confirmation emails regarding acceptance and attendance will be sent by 11:59 PM on Friday, May 1.

Shepherd University will host a one-week summer camp during June 9-13, 2025, from 9 am to 4 pm. This camp is free and tailored for a maximum of 16 high school students enrolled in West Virginia high schools, and admission is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
As part of the camp, students will delve into the fundamentals of neuroscience and data science, along with engaging in real-life applications through hands-on activities. Free lunch will be provided daily during the camp.
Parents/guardians are kindly requested to drop off their children and sign them in upon arrival at 9 am and pick them up, signing them out at dismissal at 4 pm. Generously funded by the NSF RII grant (WV-NFNT, Award No. 2242771), this camp promises an enriching experience for high school students. To secure your child’s spot, please register by the deadline of 11:59 pm on Friday, Apr. 18. 2025 PBI & NeuroData Boot Camp for High School Science/Math Teachers in WV at Shepherd University (June 9-13, 2025)
Join us for an enriching opportunity at Shepherd University’s boot camp from June 9-13, 2025, designed to equip 8 high school Science/Math teachers from West Virginia with the fundamentals of Problem-based Instruction (PBI), neuroscience, and data science, alongside hands-on applications. Please note that we will be going to Frederick National Labs for a tour of our Cryo-Electron Microscopy Facility and a Data Science seminar in the morning of Friday June 13, 2025.
Supported by the NSF RII grant (WV-NFNT, Award No. 2242771), this boot camp offers a stipend of $200 per day to each participant, including complimentary lunch. Seats are limited and allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please note that preference will be given to Science or Math teachers who did not attend in previous summers. Supported by the NSF RII WV-NFNT grant (Award No. 2242771 https://wvresearch.org/nsf-epscor-wv-nfnt), Shepherd University is hosting a one-week free summer camp for high school students in West Virginia from June 17th to 21st, 2024, running from 8 am to 5 pm daily. Tailored for up to 16 high school students (rising 9th – 12th graders in Fall 2024) in West Virginia, admission is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Participants will explore neuroscience and data science fundamentals through hands-on activities, with a focus on real-life applications. Daily breakfast and lunch will be provided at the SU Student Center cafeteria.
