SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University is moving all of its summer courses online and waiving the online fee of $50 per credit hour for all summer classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The summer term runs May 26-August 4.

Dr. Scott Beard, provost, said half the summer courses were already online, and his office is working with academic leadership to determine what other courses originally slated for face-to-face instruction can be transitioned to an online format. Courses originally scheduled for online delivery will continue to be offered as planned.

Beard said students should work with their faculty advisors to explore the next steps for their summer coursework. Help is also available in the Advising Assistance Center and there are a variety of student resources online, including advisement, academic support, tutoring, health center, student success, and library access.

The Summer Start program for incoming students will continue as planned. Participants should consult the Summer Start webpage at https://www.shepherd.edu/summer-start/ for updates.
