Mark King is adjunct instructor of organ and harpsichord at Shepherd University, and also Minister of Music at Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Hagerstown, Maryland. He received his B.S. degree in Organ and Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he studied organ with Dr. Carol Teti. He received his M.M. degree in Performance and Sacred Music from Duquesne University, where he studied organ performance and improvisation with Dr. Ann Labounsky. Mr. King also studied at the Royal School of Church Music in England.
Mark King performs extensively throughout the United States and Europe including organ recitals at The National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.; the 1992 National Convention of the American Guild of Organists in Atlanta; Saint Thomas Church (Fifth Avenue) in New York City; Saint Paul’s Cathedral in London; The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Paris; The Baltimore Bach Marathon; Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris; The Jean Langlais Centennial Conference (sponsored by Duquesne University); and performed at the Olivier Messiaen Conference also sponsored by Duquesne University.
