Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary Loan, abbreviated as “ILL”, is a free service through which Shepherd University students, faculty, staff, and Scarborough Society members may request books, articles, and audio/visual materials not owned by Scarborough Library.

Please note that textbooks and required class readings cannot be requested through interlibrary loan.

Books and Audio-Visual Materials

The best way to request books or AV is through WorldCat.  When you find the item you want, click on “Request this item through Interlibrary Loan”.

Please allow 7-14 days for items to arrive. Patrons are notified by email when items are available for pick up at the Public Services desk. Please email Patrick Weber with the citation information if you cannot place your request through WorldCat. Paper request forms are available at the Public Services Desk.

Journal Articles

The best way to request articles is through a database search. When you find the article you want, click on “Request this item through interlibrary loan”.

Request a Journal Article

Articles are usually delivered electronically to the patron’s email account. Delivery time is usually 1-3 days but is dependent upon availability at the lending library. Please check your email regularly (including your ‘junk’ mail). Please email Patrick Weber with the citation information if you cannot place your request through the databases. Paper request forms are available at the Public Services Desk.
