Advanced Computer Networks
Building high-speed networks for research and education at Shepherd University.
Shepherd University is expanding its computer networks! Shepherd has launched a project to address network connectivity issues across the Shepherdstown campus and through the four-state region. The project launched in 2020 with the initial focus of connecting to the Internet2 nationwide research network. As of 2022, the project aims to build high-speed, low-latency networks that will enable the growth of collaborative research, big-data analysis, scientific visualization, remote instructional interactivity, and other creative uses of technology at Shepherd University. This project is made possible by grants from the National Science Foundation and from the US Department of Education.
