Ms. Emily Liu is the Director of International Affairs and the primary designated school official (PDSO) at Shepherd University. Emily is originally from China and has lived in the United States since 2006. She has 19 years of experience in international education in various roles. Before coming to Shepherd University, Emily was the senior assistant director of international admissions and designated school official at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. Prior to her appointment in Fort Myers, she was the director of international student recruitment and primary designated school official at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Before that, Emily served as the director of international recruitment at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. She earned her MBA from Northwood University in Midland Michigan. | |

Wrenna Dorrer |

Ms. Wrenna Dorrer has resided in West Virginia for most of her life but lived abroad in Germany and Austria during parts of elementary and high school. Before coming to Shepherd, she completed a Master of Arts in International Peace and Conflict Studies at American University in Washington, D.C., where she spent time interning with the U.S. Senate, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and global development NGO; InterAction. Wrenna has spent time volunteering with international students since high school and has interned for the U.S. Department of the State at U.S. Embassy Singapore working in Consular Services. She received her undergraduate degree from West Virginia University in 2019 and speaks German and English. | |

Eva Olsson |

Eva Olsson is an IELP instructor. She was born and raised in Borås, Sweden, and immigrated to the United States in 2002. She is a graduate of the University of Gothenburg in Gothenburg, Sweden where she earned her Master’s of Education and Master’s of English. Eva has extensive experience working with English language learners, having worked predominantly with adolescents and adults. She has also shared her love of music with previous generations of students; Eva taught several music classes at Lyckeskolan Junior High School in Sweden. After settling in the U.S., Eva taught Swedish language classes on Shepherd University’s Martinsburg campus and was a fixture in Dining Services at the main campus. She is fascinated with many real and made-up languages: Eva is fluent in Swedish and English and has a thorough background in French, German, and Japanese. She has even dabbled with Klingon! Ms. Olsson loves to read, garden, and sing, and is currently living in Shepherdstown with her husband, two sons, and two adorable cats. | |

Carlos Castillo is originally from Cali, Colombia. He came to the United States in 2016 to pursue his studies. He graduated from Shepherd University with a bachelor’s degree of Science in Recreation Leisure Studies in 2021. He played for the Shepherd men’s soccer team for three years. He is the graduate assistant for International Affairs office. Carlos is currently enrolled in the CSDA program. He is very passionate in the world of sports industry. His goal is to be part of any franchise in the NFL, MBL, MLS or NBA. He is fluent in Spanish and English. |
