Our Campus Cares
Student Affairs and Student Community Services developed a new and exciting opportunity to unite our campus. The objective of Our Campus Cares is to help our campus and local community thrive through donation drives! This year’s chosen initiatives are listed at the bottom of this page. These initiatives support different organizations in the local community that need in-kind donations. Students and employees are eligible to earn service hours by participating in OCC service initiatives.
Our Mission
“The Our Campus Cares initiative strives to include all Shepherd students and employees in an effort to give back to the local community and fellow rams. The OCC initiative will continue Shepherd’s tradition of service by uniting together for specific causes each semester. As a unified campus, we can make a difference in the lives of others”

Toy Drive
Starts on November 1, 2024 | Due by December 1, 2024
This year, we are supporting a local initiative through the Covenant Church of Shepherdstown to collect toys for a low income neighborhood in Jefferson County. Unfortunately, many of our communities are not reached through national agencies collecting toys for the holidays. Student Community Services will also be working with Strong and Stable Families work Group to support the youth in Berkeley County.
We are collecting toys for children ranging from 2 to 17 years old. Below you will find a breakdown of the children’s ages and how many children in each age group. Please bring an unwrapped gift to the Student Center, Suite 216.
