Honor Music Festival

The Shepherd University School of Music’s 20th Annual Honor Music Festival was held on Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend – January 17-19, 2025. The festival included an honor jazz ensemble, choir, and wind ensemble, comprised of outstanding high school students who had been nominated by their music ensemble directors. Participating students rehearsed and performed with outstanding conductors and clinicians, participated in master classes with Shepherd faculty, heard performances from the SU ensembles, and benefited from an immersive musical experience.

Our conductors for the Honor Music Festival were Dr. Scott Hippensteel (Wind Ensemble), Dr. Kurtis Adams (Jazz Ensemble), Dr. Steven Grives (Choir). Special guest conductor Dr. Thomas Caneva conducted the Honor Wind Ensemble, Kevin Woods conducted the Honor Jazz Ensemble, and Dr. Jeremy Mims conducted the Honor Choir.
