The Office of the Registrar will be closed for the holidays December 24 – January 3. We re-open at 8am on January 4. Any requests sent in during that period for processing forms, transcripts, overrides, etc., will be completed as soon as possible after we return on January 4.
The Office of the Registrar remains available for service following strict University guidelines to support the safety and well-being of our staff and visitors.
In hopes of minimizing wait times and inconvenience to you, we will continue to offer and encourage use of our electronic and web resources. Please make use of RAIL, email, fax, and electronic transmission of common online forms to the extent possible:

Transcripts are released only upon written request from the student with the student’s signature and printed name plainly shown.
A transcript may be requested from:

Alternatively, the signed request may be scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, or faxed to 304-876-5136. If you use this option, please call 304-876-5463 to ensure that we have received your request. We will verify completeness and help facilitate payment of applicable transcript fees.
The request must include your name, ALL previous names, address, phone number, social security number, dates of attendance, and graduation date (if applicable).
Include the COMPLETE mailing address to which the transcript should be sent. We do not currently have an e-transcript option.
The first transcript EVER requested is free. The FEE for each additional transcript is $5.00. A check should be made out to Shepherd University. Please do not send cash.
(Note: All online requests for official transcripts, through RAIL, require a credit card payment of $5 for normal processing, $15 for emergency processing. If you are using RAIL to order your first transcript EVER, you will need to pay the appropriate fee, and can request your FREE transcript by mail or in our office.)
Regular transcripts require a minimum of 3 working days for processing.
Emergency transcripts are $15.00 each for 24 hour processing in our office: if we receive your $15 payment no later than noon on a business day, we will have your transcript in the mail to its recipient on the very next business day.
Please note that the 24-hour time frame does NOT mean that the recipient will have it in 24 hours–we have no control over the U.S. Mail or other delivery systems. Transcripts are sent 1st class mail. For Fed Ex, UPS, etc., you must include a pre-paid, pre-addressed mailing envelope.
24-Hour Faxed Transcripts
There must be a signed request by the student. This request may be faxed to 304-876-5136.
Faxed transcripts are unofficial.
Faxed transcripts are $15.00 each. This payment may be presented as a check sent by mail, or by cash or credit card in the Business Office (304-876-5284). Payment must be received before the transcript is faxed.
In addition to providing the fax number the transcript is to be sent to, provide a phone number for contact in case of problems!
Allow approximately a month from the date of graduation before a final transcript may be issued. However, a student may request a letter of verification to confirm that requirements for graduation have been met.
All financial obligations to Shepherd University must be reconciled before a transcript will be released.

Transcripts picked up by students will be stamped ISSUED TO STUDENT. Such a transcript may not be acceptable to the person receiving it.
