Free Access to Shepherd University Athletic Events
Part-time employees enjoy the same free access to sporting events that full-time employees enjoy. Each part-time employee plus one guest will be admitted into any regular season athletic event with their Rambler Card. Come out and support the Rams!
Supplemental Retirement Accounts
Part-time employees may participate in 403(b) and/or 457(b) supplemental retirement plans through TIAA-CREF or Great West. Shepherd University does not match supplemental retirement plan contributions. A salary reduction form must be completed to set up contributions to a supplemental plan. Aflac Insurance Policies
Part-time employees may enroll at a special employee rate, on a direct pay basis (credit card/ bank draft), in any or all of the following Aflac policies: (1) Accident; (2) Cancer/Specified Disease; (3) Hospital Confinement Indemnity (for example, maternity); (4) Hospital Confinement Sickness Indemnity; and (5) Specified Health Event. Training and Development Programs
Shepherd subscribes to Business and Legal Reports, a service that offers training programs on safety issues and general human resources issues for faculty and staff. Part-time employees are encouraged to take advantage of these training opportunities at no charge to individual employees or their departments. The training modules can be utilized at the employee’s convenience, at his or her desk. Please click here for more information. Part-time employees also are eligible to participate in training activities provided by their departments.
