L.E.A.D.S. FYEX Course

Students participating in Shepherd L.E.A.D.S. (LEADS) will simulaneiously register for a 1-credit First-Year Experience (FYEX)* course, required for Shepherd’s Core Curriculum. By starting this class earlier than other course work, students will have opportunity to get ahead of the game for not only their fall semester but their entire college career.  LEADS provides a unique opportunity to build a relationship with faculty, earn feedback on college readiness, and make connections with Peer Mentors!

Course Dates

August 9 – August 18 (in collaboration with LEADS’ leadership activities and service projects) 
August 22 – September 21 (Tuesdays & Thursdays – check the class schedule for specific times and locations)  

Course Insturctors

Our First Year Experience (FYEX) faculty have a wide range of expertise in working closely with incoming students (both freshman and transfers). Students will be lead through the program by faculty and staff. Three faculty will specifically guide students through the FYEX course both during the LEADS program as well as into the fall semester.
