SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Community nonprofit organizations and Shepherd University groups addressing critical community needs are invited to submit letters of inquiry to Women Investing in Shepherd (WISH) for the group’s 2022 awards, which will total $127,500.

WISH will award two nonprofit grants and two Shepherd University learning project grants for the 2022 grant cycle, with each recipient receiving $31,875. Qualifying nonprofit organizations must be designated as 501 (c) (3) public charities. Organizations and groups affiliated with Shepherd must be university sanctioned. Applicants must submit an inquiry by March 15 and then will be notified about eligibility to submit a formal grant proposal.

In 2021, WISH awarded five grants totaling $125,000 collectively to community nonprofits Berkeley County Meals on Wheels and Shenandoah Community Health Foundation and Shepherd University learning projects College of Business Analytics Lab and the Lifelong Learning Program Hybrid Learning Classroom initiative. A total of $742,000 has been awarded in high-impact grant funding over the past seven years.

WISH, a women’s giving circle comprised of both Shepherd alumnae and community members, was established in 2014 by the Shepherd University Foundation to educate, engage, and empower women to achieve their philanthropic goals.
