SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Friends of Popodicon is hosting the Second Annual Wine and Beer Tasting event on Monday, October 21, from 6-9 p.m. at the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown. Tickets are $80 per person and are available until October 14.
The evening will include wine and beer, along with a selection of hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Proceeds will benefit the renovation of a small building for event restrooms and replacement of the walkways in the gardens. There will be a silent auction and chance drawing tickets will be available for purchase.
Popodicon, the business residence of Shepherd University’s president, was designed by Stuart Edmonds of Winchester, Virginia, and was built in the colonial Georgian style in 1907. The grounds and gardens were designed by Oglesby Paul of Philadelphia, an associate of the famous landscape architect Frederick Olmstead.
