SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Tabler Farm is having a plant sale on Thursday, April 25, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in front of the Wellness Center. The sale will feature several varieties of heirloom and hybrid vegetables, including herbs, and flowers—all grown in the campus greenhouse without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.
The Tabler Farm follows the standards administered by the United States Department of Agriculture National Organic Program. Plants that will be available in four-inch pots for $3 each include sun gold cherry tomatoes, big beef red tomatoes, Cherokee purple tomatoes, striped German tomatoes, orange and red sweet bell peppers, red habanero peppers, Italian parsley, Greek oregano, Italian basil, jade cucumbers, Magda Middle Eastern summer squash, and giant zinnias.
