Students, faculty help prepare taxes

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WVFour accounting students and the faculty supervisor, Robert Perry, adjunct accounting professor, assisted in the preparation for the 2023 tax season of 50 tax returns for the community. The students provided a much-needed community service and gained valuable tax preparation skills.  

Photo of students and faculty who helped prepare taxes.Shepherd is registered as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program site and participated in the Eastern Panhandle EITC Coalition program. Operating under the umbrella of MountainHeart Community Services, Inc. and sponsored by the IRS, this nationwide program helps limited-income families and individuals with free tax preparation.
