SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Performing Arts Series at Shepherd (PASS) will present Ballet Hispanico Wednesday, March 5 at 8 p.m. at the Frank Center theater.
Now in its fourth decade, Ballet Hispanico is America’s preeminent Latino dance organization and is led by artistic director Eduardo Vilaro. It has grown from its grassroots origins to become a world-class institution that explores, preserves, and celebrates Latino cultures through dance, thrilling audiences with its magnetic energy, vivacious choreography, and sheer passion.
The program will feature the new work “Sortijas” by choreographer Cayetano Soto. “Sortijas” (Rings) is a duet that celebrates Latino tradition by representing the circular ties of family and friends that link communities together over generations.
Tickets are $20 for the general public, $15 for seniors and Shepherd staff, $5 for children, and free for Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID. Tickets are available through the Shepherd University Bookstore in person, by calling 304-876-5219, or by going to www.shepherdbook.com.
