SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University Foundation will accept a major gift to endow the Jo Ann Mentzer Scholarship at its annual membership meeting Thursday, September 19 at 3 p.m. in McMurran Hall.
Susan Mentzer-Blair, who sits on the Foundation’s board of directors, will present the estate gift on behalf of her first cousin.
Mentzer was a lifelong resident of Martinsburg and former teacher with Berkeley County Public Schools. She was a 1960 graduate of Shepherd University.
The Shepherd University Foundation is a non-profit organization that advances the mission of Shepherd University by overseeing funds established for support of the university and its students, faculty, and programs.
