Shepherd School of Music to host January 27 Salon Series concert

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University School of Music Salon Series continues with a recital on Thursday, January 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Frank Arts Center Theater featuring Shepherd faculty members James Martin with Dr. Julianna Hayward, and special guest soprano Katie Burnham, in a program title “Sensuality and Eventuality.” Sponsored by Jefferson Security Bank, the performance is free and open to the public.

The program includes music by composers Corrado Maria Saglietti, Jules Massenet, Nicola Ferro, Samuel Barber, H. W. Tyrell, André Previn, Johannes Brahms, Leonard Bernstein, Charles Gounod, and Eric Ewazen.

Katie Burnham is a classically trained soprano from Peoria, Illinois. Although classically trained, she loves to sing and teach a variety of genres including opera, musical theater, pop, and contemporary Christian music.

The current policy for attendance of live events in the Frank Arts Center requires everyone, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask indoors. Please sit only in designated rows and leave at least two empty seats between unrelated groups of audience members.
