SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University will host its 16th annual Shep-or-Treat Halloween event on Wednesday, October 26, from 7-9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. All faculty, staff, and community members are encouraged to bring their children (ages 14 and under) for a night of festivities.
Shep-or-Treat is a campuswide community service event where Shepherd University staff and students plan Halloween activities including a haunted house, carnival games, crafts, giveaways, and other activities on east campus in residence halls, Student Center, Dining Hall, Scarborough Library, and outdoor spaces.
Before the Shep-or-Treat festivities, Shepherd University Dining Services will be hosting a spooktacular kid friendly all-you-can-eat dinner from 4:30-8 p.m. The cost is $9.50 for adults, $4.25 for children ages 6-12, and free for kids 6 and under.
Donations of candy and/or monetary donation are being accepted from anyone wishing to support the event. For more information, call Residence Life at 304-876-5172.
Note from Residence Life:
In light of recent national events that have been reported and in the interest of participants’ safety, Residence Life believes it would be in everyone’s best interest and in the best interest of the community as a whole to refrain from dressing as clowns this Halloween season. Residence Life is especially asking this for October 26, 2016 during the campus Shep-or-Treat event. We do not want to create fear, nor do we want to ruin the fun this time has to offer; we want to ensure that our students and community members feel safe. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
