School of Music to present musical ‘Into the Woods’ February 9, 10, and 11

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Musical theater is coming to Shepherd University on Friday, February 9, and Saturday, February 10, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, February 11, at 3 p.m., with performances of the famous Broadway show “Into the Woods” in the Frank Arts Center Theater, 260 University Dr., Shepherdstown, West Virginia.

“Into the Woods,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. Shepherd’s production is directed by kb saine, associate professor of theater, with music direction by Dr. Bobb Robinson, adjunct music professor, and technical direction by Chase Molden, theater tech director.

General admission is $15; $10 for Shepherd faculty, staff, alumni, senior citizens, active-duty military, and ages 18 and under; and free for Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID.

“Into the Woods” is presented through special arrangements with Music Theatre International (MTI), one of the world’s leading theatrical licensing agencies. All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
