School of Music to present musical ‘25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’ February 14, 15, and 16

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s School of Music will present a concert production of the musical comedy “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” on Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 16, at 3 p.m. in the Marinoff Theater. Music and lyrics are by William Finn and the book is by Rachel Sheinkin. The original Broadway cast recording was nominated for a Grammy Award.

The play will be directed by k.b. saine, assistant professor of theater, with musical direction by Alison Shafer, a Frederick, Maryland, music director. Admission is $15 for the general public; $10 for Shepherd employees and alumni, senior citizens, and ages 18 and under; and free for Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID.
