School of Music to present December 3 small ensembles concert

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University School of Music will present a concert featuring the best of the department’s small ensembles on Tuesday, December 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Frank Center W. H. Shipley Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public.

The program will feature music by composers Léon Boëllmann, Johann Sebastian Bach, Friedrich Kuhlau, François Devienne, Philip Glass, and Fisher Tull. Performers include the Vita Brass Quintet with Ashlee Leshinski, trumpet, Joseph Rupert, trumpet, Michelle Spears, horn, Javier Flores, euphonium, and Corwin Neat, tuba; the Flute Salad Ensemble with Tara Foster, Matthew Hendy, Emily McMoran, flutes, Jasmine Mitlacher, alto flute, and Samantha Lowrie, bass flute; King Street Brass featuring Faith Kirschling, trumpet, John Miner, trumpet, Anna Watson, French horn, Arden Cline, trombone, and Jonathan Prematta, tuba; a Flute Duo of Samantha Lowrie and Emily McMoran; the Flute of the Loom Ensemble of Tara Foster, Matthew Hendy, and Jasmine Mitlacher; and the Shepherd Saxophone Quartet with Kyle Colliflower, soprano saxophone, Joanie Dyer, alto saxophone, Isaac Cheston, tenor saxophone, and Brian Berdan, baritone saxophone.
