SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s School of Music will host a free piano recital on Wednesday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Frank Arts Center W. H. Shipley Recital Hall.
Under the direction of Dr. Yu-Hsuan Liao, associate professor of music, students will perform piano ensemble pieces ranging from the salon charm of French composer Cécile Chaminade to early 20th-century American composer Henry Gilbert’s “3 American Dances” revolving around African American folklore. There will be a bonus piece for one piano with 8 hands (4 pianists).
Student performers include Annalise Jackson, a music education major from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia; Savannah Williams, a music in performance major from Hedgesville, West Virginia; Kaitlyn Warren, a secondary education major from Augusta, West Virginia; and Sianna King, a music major from New Market, Maryland.
