SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University School of Music will host a Visitation Day on Monday, October 14, that is open to all high school seniors and juniors and transfer students who are considering pursuing a degree in music at Shepherd.

Students will attend classes, meet music faculty and current students, visit with representatives from the admissions office, hear ensemble rehearsals and performances, have lunch in the Dining Hall, and take a guided campus tour. It will be an opportunity for students to live a “day in the life” of a Shepherd music student and learn about the audition and application process. Interested parents are also welcome to attend. There is no charge to participate in this event.

Current high school seniors and prospective transfer students can also arrange an individual audition during this Visitation Day for acceptance to Shepherd’s School of Music and priority consideration for a music scholarship. Regular music school audition dates for the fall 2020 class are scheduled for Saturday, January 25, and Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Shepherd offers offer three music degrees: a Bachelor of Music in performance, a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Arts in music. The mission of Shepherd’s music department is to challenge students to reach their potential by providing extraordinary experiences.
