SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s School of Music will present several concerts during the month of March. Scheduled events include:
- Sunday, March 1—16th Annual Student Honors Recital, 2:30 p.m., Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, 401 Museum Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland. Free and open to the public.
- Thursday, March 26—Shepherd Salon Series sponsored by Jefferson Security Bank with Robin Rhodes and Friends, 7:30 p.m., Frank Center W.H. Shipley Recital Hall. Shepherd adjunct faculty and bassist Robin Rhodes will join friends to play selections from AfroHouse’s house concert experimentation featuring 25th century Afrofuturistic music. Free and open to the public.
- Friday, March 27—Symphonic Band concert, 7:30 p.m., Frank Center Theater, with pre-concert lecture at 7 p.m. The Symphonic Band will perform great band music by composers such as John Philip Sousa, Leroy Anderson, David Holsinger, Robert Sheldon, David del Tridici, Franz von Suppe, and Frank Ticheli. General admission is $15; $10 Shepherd employees and alumni, senior citizens, and ages 18 and under; free for Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID.
- Monday, March 30—Monday Morning Musicale, 10 a.m., Frank Center W.H. Shipley Recital Hall. A select group of student musicians will perform solo and ensemble work. The performance and coffee are free and open to the public.
