SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Registration is still open for the fourth annual Seeding Your Future Conference for middle school-age girls, which will take place on Saturday, October 14, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Shepherd University. Seeding Your Future is free and open to girls in grades 5-8 who are interested in learning more about science, technology, engineering, and math.
New to this year’s conference are the Build a Brain Workshop, where students will build a brain with Play-Dough; ID that Tree, where students will learn to identify various trees; Smells Kitchen, where they will make fall smells and learn what compounds make up those smells; and Mapping and Inhabiting Mars, where they will use geographic information system technology to learn about the planet. Other popular workshops from previsous years will also be offered.
