SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University Department of Music will host a night of piano ensemble and piano studio music titled “Two to Eight Hands” at the Frank Center’s W. H. Shipley Recital Hall on Wednesday, November 18 at 6 p.m. under the direction of Dr. Yu-Hsuan Liao, assistant professor of music. Selections include compositions for two pianos (eight hands), one piano (six hands), and solo works by Olivier Messiaen, Samuel Barber, Franz Schubert, Cornelius Gurlitt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Dmitry Kabalevsky, and Béla Bartók. Admission is free and open to the public.
Piano ensemble and piano studio students performing in this recital are Mary Granofsky, Franklin; John Taylor, Columbia, Maryland; Blair Bosocolo, Greencastle, Pennsylvania; James Townsend, Romney; Louise Campbell and Zelissa Thomas, Frederick, Maryland; Lucas Peterson, Rockville, Maryland; Matthew Jefferson, Jefferson, Maryland; Anthony Gabourel, Temple Hills, Maryland; Matthew Bunn, Edgewood, Maryland; and Jennifer Forbes, Purcellville, Virginia.
