Music department to host free morning concert October 8

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Wake up to music on Monday, October 8, at 10 a.m. as a group of Shepherd student musicians and ensembles perform a “Monday Morning Musicale” in the Frank Center W. H. Shipley Recital Hall. Enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation after the concert in the Frank Center lobby. The recital and coffee are free and open to the public.

The program will feature solo and ensemble works for voice, piano, saxophone, horn, and percussion. The selected performers are percussionists Daniel Morris, Martinsburg, and Griffin Haines, Boonsboro, Maryland; Shania Isenberg, flute, Burlington; Kevin Mitchell, tuba, Fairplay, Maryland; Carol Niedringhaus, soprano and John Wilkens, baritone, both of Frederick, Maryland; Joshua Smith, clarinet, Baltimore, Maryland; and Jordan Shifflett, saxophone, Bridgewater, Virginia.

Shepherd’s Brass Quintet will also perform. Members include Emily Watson, Cottageville, horn; Michelle Spears, Wadestown, horn; Faith Kirschling, Frederick, Maryland, trumpet; Christopher Goodridge, New Market, trumpet; and John Toloczko, Vienna, Virginia, trumpet.
