SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Dr. Anne Murtagh, associate professor of psychology at Shepherd University, is conducting a five-week Mindful Meditation Workshop beginning Tuesday, October 11 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Cumberland Room of Shepherd’s Student Center. The workshop is free and open to the public and meets Tuesdays through November 8.
The workshop is based on scientifically supported methods that have been shown to reduce stress and facilitate coping. Topics include breath and body awareness, relaxation, mindful eating, coping with difficult emotions, and fostering contentment and joy. No previous experience is necessary.
