SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Office of Continuing Education is sponsoring a knowledge management workshop on Thursday, November 8, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Martinsburg Center. The cost is $195 per person, or $150 per person if two or more people from the same organization register. The registration deadline is Monday, October 29.
The workshop will address the concern of knowledge loss and strategies to improve knowledge retention. Topics include human capital challenges, determining critical at-risk knowledge, developing a knowledge retention and transfer framework, easy-to-accomplish knowledge retention and transfer techniques, learning from others, and using social network analysis to inform knowledge sharing and retention efforts.
The presenter will be Dr. Jay Liebowitz, Distinguished Chair of Applied Business and Finance at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. Liebowitz was the first knowledge management officer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and is ranked one of the top 10 knowledge management researchers or practitioners out of 11,000 internationally. He has published more than 45 books and numerous journal articles on knowledge management, intelligent systems, and IT management.
