SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Department of History is hosting an open house on Friday, November 30, from 11:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The department will provide prospective students with an overview of Shepherd and the history program, which offers majors in general history, Civil War and 19th-century America, and historic preservation and public history.

Families will have a complimentary lunch with current history students, alumni, and faculty members; tour the campus and learn about university admissions process and financial aid; and participate in setting up a Civil War military encampment.

The event will culminate at the George Tyler Moore Center for the Study of the Civil War, where students will interact with costumed interpreters discussing the Civil War era. For more information and to register for the open house, visit www.shepherd.edu/history-open-house.
