Dr. Jennifer L. Penland presents at international conference, wins award

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Dr. Jennifer L. Penland, director of Shepherd University’s School of Education, attended the 4th Canadian International Conference on Advances in Education, Teaching and Technology 2019 at the University of Toronto July 27 and 28. Penland presented a paper titled “Exploring Fractal Imagery to Promote Culturally Responsive Dialogue and Healing: An Indigenous Focus,” which will be published in the conference proceedings in fall 2019.

Penland was awarded Best Presenter in her session, Studies of Teaching and Learning, served as a session chair for Education and Teaching in Different Lands, and has been invited to serve as a keynote speaker for the 2020 international conference.
