SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Department of English and Modern Languages is hosting “In Conversation: Dr. Stephen Spencer and Sadie Shorr-Parks” on Wednesday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m. in the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education auditorium.

The public is invited to this free event with poetry and conversation with Shepherd’s newly named provost, Dr. Stephen Spencer, and Society for Creative Writing director, Sadie Shorr-Parks. Spencer will share and discuss the forthcoming publication of his poem “Desiderata in Autumn.” Shorr-Parks’ collection, “Honey Month,” was released earlier this month.

Spencer’s poem will be published in an upcoming issue of “The Big Windows Review” and it will be featured on the publication’s website on April 27.

“Honey Month,” the debut poetry collection by Shorr-Parks, was published by Main Street Rag in March 2022. Poetry from this collection has also been featured in “Appalachian Heritage,” “Aquifer: The Florida Review,” “Blueline,” “Cimmaron Review,” “Painted Bride Quarterly,” “Sierra Nevada Review,” and “Southwest Review.”
