SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Maryland Art Place (MAP) in Baltimore is hosting the interactive exhibit “tet[R]ad: Draw and Play Here” through March 12 featuring the work of David R. Modler, associate professor of art at Shepherd University, and artists Samuel H. Peck and Desmond Beach.

The exhibit is designed to encourage audience participation by giving the public the opportunity to contribute to visual journals and collaborative drawings and assemblages.

On its website, MAP says the exhibit is intended to “aspire to cultivate a creative forum with members of Baltimore’s communities through a variety of art actions and social practices. We wish to foster restorative justice dialogues and build bridges between stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to engage with the local community to give voice and agency to participants that develop meaningful connections.”

Visitors can contribute their own artwork to journals, art-making stations, and larger-than-life figurative drawings courtesy of Baltimore artist Desmond Beach. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday from noon-4 p.m. A reception is scheduled for Thursday, February 24, from 6-9 p.m.
