Annual Day of Service to take place August 22

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s 19th Annual Day of Service will take place Wednesday, August 22, when 120 students, staff, and faculty will help the community by partnering with local nonprofits. Participants will begin with breakfast at the Dining Hall at 7:30 a.m., then will fan out across the community to work until 4 p.m.

Nonprofit agencies that are participating include the Shepherdstown Visitors Center, Shepherdstown Community Club, PurposeFULL Paws, Boys and Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle, Telamon Corporation, Potomac Valley Audubon Society, St. Andrew’s Mountain Community Center, Shepherdstown Day Care, Green Hill African American Cemetery, Burke Street Elementary School in Martinsburg, Berkeley Senior Services, Martinsburg Garden of Promise, Children’s Home Society, Christ Reformed UCC in Shepherdstown, Horses with Hearts, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, and Panhandle Home Health.
