Agricultural Innovation Center to host November 2 open house

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Agricultural Innovation Center (Tabler Farm) is hosting a Sustainable Agriculture Open House on Saturday, November 2, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

Visitors will be able to tour the refurbished milk parlor/aquaponics lab and see drones and drone flights, newly installed solar panels, the honey bee observation hive, and cold season plants in the 30 foot by 90 foot high tunnel. They will also be able to get information about degrees and certificates offered in the sustainable agriculture program and hear about future plans for the farm.

Directions to the center from Shepherdstown: take Route 45 west for 1.12 miles; turn right onto Old Martinsburg Rd.; in two tenths of a mile turn right onto Billmyer Mill Rd.; and in approximately half a mile turn right onto a gravel drive.
