SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Contemporary Theater Studies program will present She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen in the Marinoff Theater, 62 W. Campus Dr., Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
The play, directed by kb saine, associate professor of theater, tells the story of Angie Evens who leaves her childhood home after her sister Tilly dies in her teens. When Angie finds her sister’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she is drawn into the world her sister was enchanted by.
This strong, dramatic comedy is flooded with homicidal fairies and 90s pop nostalgia. Nguyen claims there will be something there for the bookworm and the thrill seekers.
The play will take place on April 5, 6, 12, and 13 at 7 p.m.; and April 7 and 14 at 2 p.m. Performances are pay-what-you-will and free for Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID.
She Kills Monsters is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
