2+2 transfer agribusiness and chemistry agreements with Blue Ridge CTC and FCC signed

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Students in three programs at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College and Frederick Community College (FCC) now have the opportunity to transfer seamlessly to Shepherd University where they can earn bachelor’s degrees.

Shepherd and Blue Ridge CTC have signed a 2+2 transfer agreement that gives students who earn an Associates of Applied Science in agribusiness the ability to transfer into Shepherd’s Regent’s Bachelor of Arts program.

“The is new 2+2 agreement with Blue Ridge’s agribusiness A.A.S. degree is a great path for students to continue their education in agricultural areas of study,” said Beth Thomas, Shepherd R.B.A. coordinator. “Students would be able to work toward their Regent Bachelor of Arts degree while pursuing their interest in agricultural entrepreneurship or sustainable food -production offered through the R.B.A. program.”

“I am excited to share this new transfer opportunity with students,” said Tiffany Hine, Blue Ridge CTC agribusiness program coordinator. “Our program prepares students for a rewarding career in the agribusiness industry. This agreement offers an additional pathway for students who are interested in continuing their academic career after earning their Associate of Applied Science in agribusiness at Blue Ridge CTC.”

In addition, Shepherd and Frederick Community College signed agreements that will enable FCC students earning an Associated of Science degree in STEM to transfer into Shepherd’s Bachelor of Science in chemistry, biochemistry concentration, or the Bachelor of Science in chemistry, traditional.

“The chemistry department is excited to sign this new 2+2 agreement with FCC,” said Dr. Jacquelyn Cole, chair, Shepherd University Department of Chemistry. “We have had such wonderful transfer students over the years and this agreement will make the process easier for future students.”
