Management Information Systems – Graduate Certificate

The Management Information Systems (MIS) certificate is designed for students or others seeking to better understand and work with computers in the workplace. The curriculum covers basic programming concepts necessary to work with information systems and websites, and a hands-on introduction to database concepts.
Complete at least one course from:

  •  MBA 550 – Business Analytics
  •  MBA 532 – Project Management

then complete three from the following:

  • MBA 585 – Introduction to Business Programming (3 cr)
  • MBA 586 – Systems Analysis and Design (3 cr)
  • MBA 581 – Web Programming (3 cr)
  • MBA 582 – Management Information Systems (3 cr)
  • MBA 588 – Database Management Systems (3 cr)
  • Program approved elective

International Graduate Students

General Application Procedures
Please follow the steps listed below in completing this application form:

  1. The application is required of all degree-seeking students, regardless of whether you are interested in part-time or full-time studies.
  2. A non-refundable application fee of $40 is required of all applicants, except for those parties listed in #3.  A check or money order, payable to Shepherd University, should be sent with this application form to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
  3. Application fees are waived for current Shepherd students, alumni, and employees.
  4. Please read the statement which relates to the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA).
