
Jacob Miner has been playing the saxophone since age 12. Throughout middle and high school, he performed in numerous honor bands and festivals such as all-county bands, all-state band, university honor bands, and the U.S. Navy Band Saxophone Symposium. While in high school and college, Jacob also attended and performed at workshops such as the Indiana University Summer Saxophone Academy, the Great Plains Saxophone Workshop, and the National Jazz Workshop. Jacob is a graduate of Shepherd University with a Bachelor of Music Performance degree where he studied classical and jazz saxophone and is an active performing musician throughout Western Maryland and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
Jacob has been teaching private music lessons for 6 years with students of all ages, ranging from elementary school to elderly adults. He also has experience coaching and giving masterclasses to both middle school and high school ensembles as well as marching bands. He has had success preparing students for auditions for all-county/region bands, all-state bands, and university honor bands as well as solo performances at solo and ensemble festivals. Jacob caters his teaching to the goals and interests of the student to help them become the musician they want to be.
