IT Services strongly recommends individuals store files on the Microsoft OneDrive.
Microsoft provides 50GB of storage and allows permissions down to the individual user. Files are easily accessible from the web by signing into login.microsoftonline.com with your Shepherd email address and network password. Select the OneDrive Application to add files.
Information in a collegiate environment is protected by Federal law, such as FERPA, and contains personally identifiable information. Per West Virginia state law (ยง46A-2A-101 et seq.), the theft, loss, or accidental exposure of this information constitutes a data breach and we are required to notify the potential victims of the data breach.
IT Services discourages the use of USB thumb drives as the probability of having them lost or stolen is much higher than cloud storage options.
