Hamood Endowment Info

The Roger Hamood Accounting Student Endowment

The endowment is being established by alumni, friends, colleagues, and students of Roger Hamood in recognition for his 41 years of service to the accounting program at Shepherd University as instructor, professor, and department chair. These funds are designated for use for the benefit of accounting students which includes, but is not limited to; scholarships awards, part-time student funding, student travel for school functions, etc.

“I joined the Shepherd College faculty in August, 1978 as an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Division of Business Administration. All students within this division had to take Intermediate Accounting, 6 hours, as well as the introductory classes.

Today, a degree from Shepherd University with a major in Accounting is highly respected among future employers. The student, upon graduation and in some cases before earning their degree, has little difficulty obtaining employment in the field.

Moving forward in retirement, I want to take life a day at a time. I plan to spend time with my grandchildren, time at my cabin in the woods, and possibly travel throughout the USA.

I hope that over the past 41 years, I have touched the lives of our students in a positive manner. It has been an honor and pleasure to be part of the Faculty over this time period.”
