Training Resources on Campus
Business and Legal Resources (BLR) Training
Shepherd University subscribes to Business and Legal Resources (BLR), a service that provides online training modules and resources to Shepherd University employees. The service is paid for jointly by Human Resources and Campus Environmental Safety. Click here to be directed to HR’s webpage that contains more details about BLR’s safety training as well as HR-related training. If you are interested in participating in an online safety training course, please contact Dustin Robbins. Please note that employees may be required to participate in safety training on occasion. Links to online training courses are delivered through e-mail.
USI Resource Management Center
Shepherd University’s insurance broker, USI, has provided the Campus Environmental Safety Coordinator access to its Resource Management Center (RMC). The RMC, like BLR, provides safety training modules that can be assigned to and completed by Shepherd employees. If you’re interested in the training modules available, please contact Dustin Robbins.
Campus Environmental Safety Coordinator
Safety training can also be delivered to individuals or groups by the Campus Environmental Safety Coordinator. Hazard Communication Training (OSHA), Hazardous Materials (DOT) Awareness Training, Universal Waste Management Training (EPA/WVDEP) and Hazardous Waste Training (EPA/WVDEP) are training topics that can be provided.
Additional Training
Certain training must be delivered by external certified training professionals to meet regulatory requirements. On occasion, training may also be provided by external means in order to effectively train employees on environmental, health and safety topics.
